Values:
Our values come from the roots or understanding of the New Testament Church, and the values that it held. This church or new community lived out a different life (Christ in me) than that their contemporary culture had offered them. These values are what we will shape our church around.
Authentic Community
We value the Image of God in all people, everywhere. And we are accepting to people wherever they are on their spiritual journey. Because we believe that we are created to be, and live deeply with one another, carrying each others burdens, sharing our possessions, to pray for and to confess our sins to each other, to suffer and celebrate together. In these loving relationships, community becomes the truth of the Gospel and we expect our lives to be transformed.
Truth & Meaning
We affirm the central truths of historic orthodox Christian faith, because God’s truth became flesh in Jesus Christ. We seek to live in community and discover how to live in and become like Jesus the truth. We do this through the study of God’s word. And in the application, the truth comes alive in us, transforms our lives and gives us meaning.
Beauty & Worship
We believe that our daily lives are worship to God, and we embrace that all of life is sacred and beautiful. Every day we celebrate the grace, mercy, and hope that we have and live in through Jesus Christ. Our hearts live in the gratitude that God invites us to live this way of life, and we believe it is the best way to live.
Mission & Love
We believe that Jesus came to earth to redeem it, and that the church is Jesus physical presence in this world. We believe that we are to become the hands, feet and voice of Christ to our community and the world. We are to become passionate about relieving suffering, fighting injustice, speaking for those with no voice and caring for the oppressed and marginalized. Our desire is to develop hearts that care for what God cares about. We believe that every believer is to carry not only the message of the gospel with our lips but to live it out daily.
The Christian and Missionary Alliance (our churches affiliation) emphasizes the need for genuine spiritual conversion to Jesus Christ, a Spirit-filled life, and effective service. We teach the centrality of Christ expressed as “Jesus Christ –Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King.
ABOUT GOD
There is one God who is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is infinitely perfect and has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace.
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under his control daily.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Old and New Testaments were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Adam, the first man, disobeyed God and brought about both spiritual and physical death. Therefore, all people are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. The destiny of those who do not place their faith in Jesus Christ is to live in conscious torment forever. However, the destiny of the believer is to live a life of everlasting joy and bliss with God.
ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness, can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
ABOUT SANCTIFICATION
It is the will of God that every believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified completely, being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to God’s will, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service. This happens both at a single point in time and in a continued process throughout the life of a believer after he has begun a relationship with Christ.
ABOUT HEALING
The work that Jesus did on the Cross, not only provides healing for our spiritual body but also for our physical body as well. The Bible teaches that even in the present day we can and should pray for the sick and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord for healing.
ABOUT THE CHURCH
The Church is made up of all people who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. Jesus is the Head of the Body, the Church, which He has “commissioned” to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, the training of His people through His Word, the spreading of the Gospel, and the participation of His ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
ABOUT THE RESURRECTION
There will be a bodily resurrection of the believer and unbeliever. The believer will be resurrected unto life. The unbeliever will be resurrected unto judgment.
ABOUT CHRIST’S COMING
The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ could happen at any time. His return will be personal, visible, and pre-millennial. This is the believer’s hope and is a vital truth and a major incentive for holy living and faithful service.
